Deployed Military Exemption
The Florida Legislature recently passed an additional homestead exemption for deployed service members. If you were on active duty during 2010, outside of the continental U.S., Alaska or Hawaii in one of the following military operations: Enduring Freedom, Iraqi Freedom or New Dawn; please contact our office for details immediately. MAIL-IN HOMESTEAD EXEMPTION APPLICATION Any homeowner who has moved into a new home in Manatee County may now file for homestead exemption for 2012 by mail, as soon as they establish residency in their new home on or before January 1, 2012. The filing deadline is March 1, 2012. This procedure will make applying for homestead exemption even faster and more convenient. The Homestead Exemption Application, instructions and brochure may be obtained by printing them from our website or by calling our office at 748-8208.
